The shield on this patch tells a story. The letters 'WWW' indicate the Lenni Lenape words ‘Wimachtendienk Wingolauchsik Witahemui’, which in English means ‘The Brotherhood of Cheerful Service’. The numerals
39;101' indicate Mikanakawa’s Lodge Number. The Fleur-de-lis represents Boy Scouting. The two red-tasselled Eagle Feather sets represent the Boy Scout members of the Order of the Arrow and the adult Scouter members of the Order. The green-tasselled Eagle feather set represent the Explorer and Venture members of the Order. The thongs depending from the lower edge of the shield and between the sets of feathers represent the four principals in the Order’s ceremonies. This indicates So’Tsoh Chapter’s involvement with ceremonies since its inception. Secondly, they represent the four cardinal directions, indicating our role as pathfinders and guides. The blue sinuous line in the center indicates the Trinity River and the West Fork of the Trinity River. Irving, many years ago was referred to as ‘the city on a hill’. This hill sits between the forks of the Trinity River, and is represented by a green hill on the shield. The two Tipis represent Irving and Coppell, the cities within Western Star District. The Maltese-style star on the western side of the hill represents Western Star District to which So’Tsoh Chapter belongs. The gold background represented the plains of North Texas. The red border, the color of our Order, binds it all together. One symbol alone wouldn’t represent us well enough, so many were used and bound together to represent the whole.
